Diane txted me claiming that an aurora would appear in the sky last night. The webs said there was a big solar storm. The night was shaping up to be good. Maybe even way above average.

Roland and I stood in the yard for a bit after sunset. The moon was out and there were clouds everywhere. I said I could "see some green" behind the clouds and then looked up on the net where you were actually supposed to look.

It wasn't there.

So we went to bed and I set my alarm for 2:30AM to look again. I figured that was after one sleep cycle.

I woke up and checked some K value thing on the space weather website. The K value had gone down. That was a bad thing. But actually good for people using GPS.

Then I set my alarm for 5AM. The fuckin' K value had gone down to three, which was so normal that they presented this number against a green background.

I couldn't be stuffed going outside. There was no point.

So my night wasn't that good in the end. Today, my eyes feel quite rough, like the beach.
