After such a fricking exciting weekend of Eurovision Song Contest last week, this weekend brings the World Beard and Moustache Championships to the table. It's not televised, though.

The best category in the World Beard and Moustache Championships is the freestyle beard category. You can go wild with imagination. There's one guy who uses his very long beard to create a sculptural, hairy version of a famous landmark in the city in which the competition is held. Not sure how he's going to cope with this year's destination, however, which is Anchorage, Alaska. Should be interesting.

We've got a book about the 2005 championships, I think. Either 2005 or 2003. There is the story of one guy who was unbeatable in the partial beard freestyle category, until there was a tragic incident involving a powertool. Hope he's OK for this year.

The Germans are always the ones to beat. The quality and lustre is always up there.
